This
is the second and last call for the submission of technical papers
for the 13th Annual Forum on Mineral Resources Development and Geosciences.
To
date, a total of eleven (11) abstracts of technical papers have
been submitted to Annual Forum Committee. Nine (9) abstracts came
from seven (7) MGB Regional Offices while two (2) abstracts came
from the Lands Geological Survey Division of the MGB Central Office.
We
have yet to hear from Regions II, IV, VII, IX, X, XI and XIII and
the rest of the Central Office technical divisions concerned.
Deadline
for submission of abstracts of technical papers is on September
30, 2003. The technical papers are to be submitted from October
20 to 31, 2003, to give ample time for archiving of the said papers
into compact disks for distribution during the Forum proper on November
5-7, 2003. Technical papers submitted during the Forum will not
be accepted nor allowed to be presented.
Each
Regional Office/Central Office technical division must submit at
least one (1) technical paper. Thirty (30) technical papers are
expected to be presented as has been done in past MGB Annual Forums.
Thus, we are enjoining you to participate and to submit more than
the minimum number of technical papers required.
Technical
papers on best practices in mining are encouraged.
We
reiterate that abstract and technical papers must comply with the
following format:
•
Written in MS Word ’97 (.doc or .rtf file). Use Winzip 8.0
and its lower versions to compress the files; and
• Maximum of 300 words for abstracts.
They
can be submitted by regular mail or directly to this Office or emailed
to planning@mgb.gov.ph
or mesd@mgb.gov.ph.
Abstracts can be faxed to 920-9132/920-1635/920-9131.
