Cement company launches housing project for Iligan City informal settlers

Above pictures were taken during the launching of the GK Mindanao Portland Tag-ibo Village Project of Mindanao Portland Cement Corp. (MPCC), in partnership with Gawad Kalinga (GK) and the City Government of Iligan. The project is located in Tag-ibo, Dalipuga, Iligan City on a 1.4 hectare lot donated by MPCC to the city government specifically for the project. The project will benefit 130 squatter families in the area.

GK National Director Tony Meloto acknowledged the project as a potential showcase for such a collaboration saying that it is the first time for GK to have both multinational company and LGU as partners in a project.
