A technical representative from the Chemical Laboratory Service Section under the Metallurgical Technology Division (MeTD) of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Central Office participated in the 86th Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers (PIChE) National Convention held on September 10 to 12, 2025, at SMX Convention Center in Davao City.
Ms. Archielyn N. Dela Vega of MGB-MetD was among the 1,500 delegates from across the Philippines and abroad who convened for knowledge sharing, professional networking, and capacity building, reaffirming the significance of chemical engineering in shaping sustainable progress.
Carrying the theme: “Innovate, Collaborate, Transform: Chemical Engineering for Sustainable Progress,” this year’s convention emphasized the vital role of chemical engineers in advancing innovation, strengthening industry–academe partnerships, and promoting sustainability across various sectors.
The three-day event featured a keynote address on leadership, alongside plenary sessions, technical paper presentations, and poster exhibits showcasing a wide range of research and technological advancements.
It also offered interactive activities such as the World Café and the Entrepreneur’s Forum, designed to foster dialogue and exchange of ideas among participants.
